The covers for Flexipop! were meant to reflect the zany, bizarre, but always slightly dark interior (and I don’t mean picture quality!). The first issue, featuring Selector on the cover, was unashamedly retro – a throwback to the teenage magazine covers of the 1960s – hence the garish type. But the black background gave it an edgy feel. Notice the lack of exclamation mark in the title. It wasn’t until issue 5 that Flexipop! got the appendage it so richly deserved…
